Certified Residential Thermographer

Infrared camera technology can be a useful non-invasive inspection tool. Infrared camera measures the surface temperatures of building materials. Anomalies in surface temperatures, which are defined by abnormal heating or cooling, can be indicative of moisture leaks, missing or poorly installed insulation, hot electrical circuits and connections and vermin or insect infestation.

Infrared cameras are not X-Ray machines. Infrared cameras do not see through building materials or through water. Infrared cameras only show surface temperatures. With the proper training and with knowledge of building materials and techniques the anomalies in surface temperatures can reveal unseen moisture, missing or improperly installed insulation, insect and rodent infestation and electrical issues.

Building experience and professional training provides a good platform for understanding the mechanical systems of the house. The inspection will also help identify potential future issues and will help establish a timeline for repairs.

“John is a pro and I would definitely use him again! He was very thorough and took the time to explain the household system to us in a way we could understand. His written report was an incredibly useful checklist for improvements we'd like to make down the road, with pictures and notes on what should be done. John's suggestions for the most effective and economical solutions were extremely valuable, and I can now purchase our home with confidence that I know exactly what needs to be done.”
“We had the pleasure of working with John on three separate occasions as we were looking into purchasing houses. Two of those houses were single family homes and one was a duplex. Each time he patiently walked us through everything on the house in great detail answering our numerous "what-if" questions and explaining everything he was seeing. He was easy to talk with and made sure to answer everything clearly and completely. He was always on-time to our appointments and his reports were easy to understand and helped us identify current and potential issues (when they existed) with each property. I highly recommend John for your home inspection as his easy going personality and wealth of knowledge took a lot of pressure off of us as we went through the home buying process.”
